« Fri 23 Jul, 2010 8:15 pm »   I dont know if you know but Richard Harding (mostly an Avon pilot but he has lived in Lanngwidyr for the last year or so) had a nasty bike accident. He is in Neville Hall and has had severe injuries, spleen removed, ruptured aorta, puctured lung, broken legs that we know of. He is in Neville Hall but is in no condition to be visited. Follow on Facebook.
« Tue 20 Jul, 2010 8:39 pm »   Hi rich thanks for that i hadent seen that.will add it to my favourites. did you know you can get a sounding for any location not just the ones in the list. you have to click on the press for skew t pop up button then hold down shift and click on your location wait a few seconds and it will apear .here is one for talybont http://rasp.inn.leedsmet.ac.uk/cgi-bin/ ... &time=1230
« Mon 19 Jul, 2010 6:28 pm »   Hi Steve, I agree the last one is really good - I haave strated doing the same thing myself - i.e taking aphoo of the clouds and then matching it with the Skew T for Talgarth, to show what weather a given sounding will produce. Haven't got very far with it though. PS - have you seen the Tlgart Gliding Club live weather page ( http://www.blackmountainsgliding.co.uk/weather-live.php ) once you calibrate for its location ( winspeed is always low compared with our t/os ) I find it more useful than Wendy, given the variety of info it gives.
« Sun 18 Jul, 2010 6:09 pm »   anyone interested in a week in annecy next may with a bunch of 8 other pilots? with a guide and taking turns to retrieve over the week. james price is trying to set up a group for next may. he wrote this....May 2011 Annecy Paragliding trip. XC guiding/adviser, accomadation and retrieval. Looking for another 8 to join. Non profit making with a top local guide/adviser. Roughly 450-500 for 7 days with some change for a kitty. Totally transparent with costs. No Politics just good flying with mates. Let me know if your interested? Defo over estimated so there's no short comings before the trip.
« Sun 18 Jul, 2010 4:36 pm »   Hi jeremy I thought you would like it, I know you are a fan of RASP.of course there is much more too itand you can do loads more things, but i think that it is a good introduction and hopefully will get people into using rasp more. here are some more in depth links http://glidemet.co.uk/?p=655 http://s214580749.websitehome.co.uk/tut ... ds-01.html this last one is particularly good about the soundings with photos of the what the sky would look like for a given sounding . http://www.soaringmeteo.ch/raspsounding.pdf
« Sun 18 Jul, 2010 8:09 am »   Thanks Steve; I've watched it 3 times so far ........ think I'll keep a record of this one.
« Fri 16 Jul, 2010 5:44 pm »   if you use RASP then you must see this web cast from judith mole, its like a little lecture on how to use it and get the best from it. http://www.judithmole.net/webcasts/rasp.html
