South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Information

Why not join the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd today by completing our on-line membership application form. Full membership of the Club only costs £22.00 per annum, and membership fees can be paid on-line by debit or credit card, or through the post by cheque.

Members of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club are also members of the Welsh Free Flight Federation, and enjoy access to the majority of flying sites in Wales through the reciprocal flying arrangements that exist within the Federation.

As 12 months membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club is only £22.00, the Club does not offer associate membership. But a second pilot living at the same address can join the Club for an additional £17.00 per annum.

Suitably qualified pilots from other clubs are always welcome on our Open Sites, provided they are familiar with and observe site rules. But all UK pilots must be members of the BHPA. Visitors from outside the UK must have adequate third party insurance, and an appropriate FAI pilot rating.

Even in these difficult financial times, membership of the SE Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club continues to be good value for money. Members receive a full colour "high resolution" electronic Sites Guide on CD, and have access to the eight open sites listed in the SE Wales Sites Guide, and a further eleven sites that are members only.

Members can also subscribe to Cymfly (the Club‘s mailing list), register for the SE Wales Forums and Shout Box, and have access to issues of Dragonfly the Club‘s electronic magazine. They can also improve their flying skills by working with Club coaches, or attending courses, lectures and XC Clinics arranged by the club throughout the year. For pilots interested in competitive flying there is also an opportunity to represent the Club in the British Clubs Challenge, or to take part in the Club‘s annual SE Wales XC League Competition.

Most of our 19 flying sites are quite large, and remain relatively uncrowded. They are also all within fairly easy reach of many of the large conurbations that straddle the M4 corridor. Which is probably why the Club attracts so many members from that area.
